Description: This is a bronze statue of the Norse explorer Leifur Eiríksson, created by Icelandic sculptor Nína Sæmundsson. Sculpted in 1930. Placed near Eiríksstaðir in Haukadalur, Dalabyggð, Iceland. This is a small-scale monument. The bronze sculpture portion itself is relatively compact, standing roughly 1 meter (approx. 3.3 feet) tall. It sits atop a tapered, square granite pedestal that adds roughly another meter of height, making the total installation around 2 meters (approx. 6.5 feet) high from the ground level to the top of the figure's helmet.
