Description: Exterior sign for The Norseman, a pub in Crosby, Liverpool. The pub uses Viking imagery in its branding: a bearded male figure wearing a horned helmet. Interestingly, the figure’s beard is stylised with shapes resembling hops. The choice of name also has a particular local resonance, as Crosby itself is a place-name of Old Norse origin, deriving from Krossabýr, meaning ‘village or settlement with a cross’.
